Houston Community College (HCC) and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), announced nine HCC fashion design students and alumni as winners of Fashion Fusion, an annual runway and design competition. The event, which took place the evening of Thursday, April 25, is the fifth annual collaborative competition hosted by the two institutions at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Student winners will receive scholarships to the Glassell School of Art, the teaching institute of the MFAH.

Houston Community College has been selected to participate in the Department of Labor, American Apprenticeship Initiative (AAI) evaluation and implementation study taking place later this year. HCC was the only college in Texas to be award the AAI grant and was selected for the study based on exemplary progress toward meeting the AAI goals.

The Houston Community College (HCC) Corrections Education Program is at the forefront of combatting recidivism, as well as improving the lives of those incarcerated. Recently, 77 percent of the students enrolled in HCC’s Corrections Education Program received a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) from ACT WorkKeys—nine of those earned a platinum ranking, which is the highest available, 15 earned gold, and 97 students earned silver or bronze rankings.
