HCC to host Art Show for 2019 International Women's Day

Taking as inspiration the beauty and challenges of being a woman, “Femme – A Celebration to Women,” features the work of 34 artists and will be on display in the second floor gallery of Houston Community College (HCC) Southeast from March 26 to May 26. A reception to mark the exhibit’s opening will be held Tuesday, March 26, in HCC Southeast’s Learning Hub Building, 6815 Rustic St.
Curated by Houston’s Yvonamor Palix Fine Arts Gallery, known for showcasing the work of European, Latin American and emerging artists, the exhibit offers paintings, photography and mixed media from artists who hail from around the world. The reception and exhibit are part of the French Cultures Festival coordinated by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston.
The opening night reception features a performance by artist Gerlinda Wise and Musiqa soprano Karol Bennett.
A discussion, “La Femme Epanouie – The Elated Woman Talks,” will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28.
