HCC welcomes dual credit construction students through partnership with MAREK Construction and HISD

Dozens of HISD dual credit students gathered last week at the HCC Southeast College Eastside Campus for a two-year Commitment Ceremony for HCC’s construction certification program.

Through a partnership with MAREK Construction, HCC Southeast allows students attending Austin and Milby high schools to earn their credentials by spending a portion of their day at HCC, while also receiving MAREK job offers upon completion.

As with all HISD Career and Technical Education programs, students in the MAREK Construction Academy are provided instruction, books, transportation, tools and equipment at no cost to them.
