HCC Interior Design student receives American Society of Interior Design award

HCC Interior Design student Amanda Fisher was announced as the 2015 American Society of Interior Designers – Texas Gulf Coast Chapter student scholarship recipient.

Fisher competed against students from more than seven two-year and four-year interior design programs. She is entering her last semester at HCC and will be pursing a career in commercial design. Her award was in the amount of $1,000 that will go toward tuition, books and supplies.

The scholarship awards were presented at the American Society of Interior Designers – Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Annual Event on January 13 at the Cosentino showroom.

Shasta Swift, Program Coordinator of Interior Design and Kevin Hamby, RID, Professor of Interior Design, were also recognized for their leadership and serving as committee chairs for the 2014 American Society of Interior Designers – Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Annual Student Career Day. This event hosted more than 150 interior design students from the Texas Gulf Coast region. It was the largest attendance to date.
