Jan 15, 2015

The City of Houston recently gave out notification that a partnership consisting of the HCC Adult Education Program, the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), and United Way THRIVE will receive $164,262 to deliver community-based job training at the locations of a number of nonprofit organizations.

With LISC as the grant recipient and fiscal agent, HCC will act as lead agency responsible for managing instructional activities that integrate training with Adult Education. Community-based job training takes advantage of wrap-around services available through nonprofit agencies and leverages their community presence for outreach, and employer engagement purposes.
