HCC Southeast College student Romana Vargas named to All Texas Academic Team Award

Romana Vargas, a dual-credit student at HCC Southeast, has been named to the All Texas Academic Team Awards from Phi Theta Kappa. These awards are merit based on accomplishments while students pursue an associate degree or workforce pathway. Vargas is serving as the vice president of scholarship for her society’s chapter.

Dr. Gisela “Bennie” Ables, PTK adviser and HCC History Department chair, nominated Vargas.

She will be recognized, along with other HCC students, at the annual American Association of Community Colleges Convention or the Association of Community College Trustees’ Congress on April 1, 2020 at The University of Texas at Dallas.
