Prior to the Houston Rockets' 100-95 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, March 2 at Toyota Center, the home team presented the HCC Foundation with a $25,000 check for student scholarships.
The HCC Foundation supports Houston Community College in its efforts to attract and educate Houston-area students with the desire and the dedication to learn - including many non-traditional students and those facing barriers to higher education. Thanks to donations such as this one and various fundraising efforts, the HCC Foundation has awarded thousands of scholarships to deserving students over the years.
HCC is the Official Education Partner of the Houston Rockets. That partnership was on display as the game night was recognized as HCC Title Night.
Before the game, HCC representatives handed out free Rocket-red HCC bandanas to fans entering the Toyota Center and school mascot Swoop was there to mug for the cameras.
Rockets legends John Lucas and Moochie Norris also took part in the pre-game festivities as they signed autographs and posed for photos.
