HCC club to host Midterm Madness study blast to help students
Mar 2, 2016
Spring break is around the corner, but before Houston Community College (HCC) students start thinking about how they are going to spend their time off, they must participate in one more college-wide activity – midterm exams.
To help get them through the grueling process, Phi Theta Kappa is hosting a Midterm Study Blast. The event is 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday, March 5 at the West Loop Campus and Alief Hayes Campus Libraries. The Study Blast is free to all HCC students and is designed to help lower the dropout rate that occurs during midterms by providing tutors on various subjects to make sure students are prepared for their upcoming exam(s).
Phi Theta Kappa is also looking for tutors. Students interested in becoming tutors must have a 3.0 G.P.A and an A in the class their interested in tutoring. Students can gain volunteer hours. If you are interested or need more information, please contact Angie Chacko at angie.chacko.publicrelations@gmail.com.
HCC Faculty members are also needed for the Midterm Study Blast. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please sign up here to help.
