October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Sep 29, 2014
The HCC Office of Institutional Equity would like to remind you that regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, race and economic status, anyone can be the victim of domestic violence. Abusers control, sometimes even terrorize our daughters, bosses, sisters, friends and even our sons. We must commit to do our part to make the world safer for our families, colleagues, and the generations to come.
If you can say “yes” to any of the following questions, please reach out to Renee Mack, Title IX Coordinator at 713.718.8271.
- Does your partner humiliate or criticize you unnecessarily?
- Does your partner limit the time you can spend with family and friends?
- Are you threatened or forced to do things you don’t want to do?
- Do you feel emotionally numb or helpless due to the actions of others?
- Are your treated so badly by your partner that you stay away from your friends?
October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Disability Employment Awareness Month and Dental Hygiene Month. At HCC we care about your health and encourage you to keep it a top priority.
