In continuing with the practice of helping all students succeed, Houston Community College is one of three local institutions of higher education providing scholarships for undocumented students through TheDream.US program.

The goal of the Dream.US program is to help every student fulfill the dream of earning an associates degree and eventually transferring to a four-year university to complete their bachelor’s degree.

Only students who are Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or have Temporary Protected Status (TPA) are eligible to apply.

“HCC is excited about this opportunity because it provides the support necessary to help ease the financial burden of a college education for this student population,” said Dr. Diana Pino, vice chancellor for Student Services.

Applicants must be first-time college students who demonstrate financial need, academic potential, motivation to succeed, and commit to a full-time course schedule.

Northwest and Southeast are participating colleges.

The application process for the Spring and Fall 2015 is ongoing through October 26, 2014. For more information on the scholarship program, visit www.thedream.us.
