HCC Southeast to host 5th Annual Veteran Job Fair and Career Expo

Houston Community College Southeast will aid the effort to lower the veteran unemployment rate by helping Houston-area veterans find job opportunities through its 5th Annual Veteran Job Fair and Career Expo.

The career expo will be held on Nov. 6, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 6815 Rustic St., Houston, TX 77087. Over 50 employers and 10 veteran agencies will be available to assist veterans.

The job fair will include workshops and information presentations on employment for the anticipated 500 attendees.

Despite their experience and wide range of skills acquired through training, the unemployment rate for veterans sits higher than the civilian one, especially for new veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

HCC Chancellor Dr. Cesar Maldonado, Southeast College President Dr. Irene Porcarello and other dignitaries are expected to attend.
