HCC Adult Education student selected as 2015 Learner of the Year

Lisa Romero, a student attending the HCC Adult Education Program, has been selected as the 2015 Adult Learner of the Year by Houston Center for Literacy.
Contestants completed an application that included an essay describing how attending an Adult Education class has effected their lives. Currently, Lisa is finishing her GED credential at the HCC Central Campus. She additionally, has accepted an invitation to read her winning essay at the Houston Center for Literacy's Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee to be held on Jan. 21, 2016. Lisa will also receive a scholarship award in the amount of $1,500. Her instructor is Ms. Sharon Gaudin. The Houston Center for Literacy is commissioned by the Mayor of the City of Houston.
