HCC Gulf Coast Region Apprenticeship Hub launches three new IT apprenticeships with TanChes Global Management
Oct 22, 2024
The HCC Gulf Coast Region Apprenticeship Hub and TanChes Global Management, in partnership with Houston Community College, has announced the launch of three new IT apprenticeship programs.
Set to begin this month, the apprenticeships are designed to meet demand for skilled professionals in the IT and administrative sectors. The apprentices will train in three categories Desktop support Specialist, Office Administrator and Desktop Administrator.
"In today's evolving IT landscape, demand for skilled professionals is greater than ever," said Tanaz Choudhury, TanChes president. “A workforce apprenticeship program that leverages the skills and potential of local community college students offers a pathway for students to enter the IT industry.”
Six openings will be available across the three apprenticeships.
"By fostering industry-academic collaboration and driving innovation, we are building a sustainable talent pipeline that will prepare students to become the future leaders in technology," said Dr. Christina Robinson, executive director of Work-Based Learning and Industry Partnerships at HCC. “This initiative not only strengthens the IT industry but also supports the local economy by creating a sustainable ecosystem that can be replicated in communities across the country.”
TanChes is a minority woman-owned small business that specializes in US-based IT sourcing.
