HCC programs receive recognition from Texas Workforce Investment Council
Oct 26, 2020
The Texas Workforce Investment Council (TWIC) has granted program recognition to the following programs at Houston Community College:
- Digital Gaming and Simulation for Artists Level Two Certificate integrated with the Electronic Game Content Production skill standards
- Digital Gaming and Simulation for Programmers Level Two Certificate integrated with the Digital Game and Simulation Programmer skill standards
- Geographic Information Science Level Two Certificate integrated with the Geographic Information System Technician skill standards
HCC’s Thomas Ronk, Director, Workforce Quality and Development, led the effort, along with program coordinators Christopher Khuong, Digital Gaming and Simulation, and Michael Boucher, Geographic Information Science, to complete all the requirements for program recognition.
Program recognition allows an institution to affix a gold, embossed seal to the exit credential of every student graduating from the recognized programs. This option provides employers with documentation that the college’s program completers have met the industry skill standards.
