HCC Coleman College ranks among top online medical assistant programs in country

EduMed.org has ranked HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences as one of the Best Online Medical Assistant Programs in the country. Using the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), EduMed.org’s Best in 2020 rankings placed Coleman second among the programs named as best for online learning in health care.

Coleman’s Medical Assistant program, which is a hybrid model with courses both face-to-face and online, offers students the chance to earn credentials at their own pace. But now, with this positive EduMed.org ranking, the career outlook for them could be even more bright. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a 29 percent employment growth rate since 2016, creating almost 184,000 new medical assistant jobs across the country. Houston, being home to the Texas Medical Center, is an opportunity for all HCC Coleman students, but this strong ranking now increases the likelihood of those with the Medical Assistant credential being hired soon after completing their education.
