Jul 20, 2018
Houston Community College Coleman College has been selected for the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist Credentialing Success Award by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
The coveted award was presented at the American Association of Respiratory Care Summer Forum in San Antonio.
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award," said Coleman College President Dr. Phillip Nicotera. "It is a testament to the quality and positive outcomes achieved consistently in the respiratory program and at Coleman College.”
Coleman's eligibility for the award was determined using objective criteria based on key accreditation metrics documented in the 2017 Annual Report of Current Status.
These programs were required to:
- Have three or more years of outcomes data;
- Hold accreditation without a progress report;
- Document credentialing success of 90 percent or above; and
- Meet or exceed established commission thresholds for credentialing success, retention, on-time graduation rate, and overall employer and graduate satisfaction.
The award is bestowed as part of continued efforts to value the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential as a standard of professional achievement. More information on the HCC Respiratory Therapist Program is available here.
