New Associate Dean of Student Success and Engagement joins HCC Southwest College

Catherine “Kate“Dumond joins Houston Community College (HCC) Southwest College as the new Associate Dean of Student Success and Engagement.
Dumond has dedicated more than 15 years to higher education student services in several states. She has extensive knowledge in admissions, recruitment, academic advising, new student orientation and dual credit programs. Dumond is also experienced in athletics, financial aid, career services, counseling and TRiO.
Dumond first joined Houston Community College in 2015 as the advising manager at HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences, where she coordinated advising efforts, managed campus recruitment initiatives and aided in streamlining the selective admissions process.
In her most recent position as the HCC P-16 director, Dumond coordinated the dual credit programming for 14 Houston Independent School District high schools. She successfully completed the College Leadership Program this year and has been selected as a member of the Innovative Leadership Academy cohort for the 2017 – 2018 academic year.
Dumond will contribute to the goal of providing the ultimate student experience at HCC Southwest College.
