HCC to host I-69/I-610 Interchange Project information sessions

Nov 27, 2017

A state project to rebuild all of the connections between Loop 610 and I-69, also known as U.S. 59 in the Houston area, is slated to begin this month.

Two information sessions are scheduled in November and December for Houston Community College students, faculty, staff and partners to learn about the project and its impact on area traffic during the multiyear roadwork.

The sessions are set for Wednesday, November 29, from 9 – 10:30 a.m.; and Thursday, December 7, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at HCC West Loop Campus auditorium, 5601 West Loop South.

Representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation will share details of the project that would expand the interchange to ease longtime traffic congestion. They will discuss a construction timeline and interim traffic plans due to roadway closures and a plan to relocate the exiting Loop 610 entrance and exit from Fournace Place to Bellaire Boulevard.

For more information about the sessions, call campus manager Mark Lambert at 713.718.7930.
