HCC celebrates Southwest College student achievements

Nearly 100 Houston Community College (HCC) faculty, staff, students and their families recently gathered at the HCC West Loop Campus Auditorium to celebrate outstanding student achievements in academia and leadership during the 2016-2017 school year.
Participants enjoyed an elegant evening honoring the future trailblazers of HCC. This is the 26th year the HCC Southwest College has held the Student Awards Ceremony.
"You've done an outstanding job and we are very, very proud of you," said Dr. Madeline Burillo, President of HCC Southwest College, during her address to the audience. “Congratulations to all of you!”
Many students beamed with pride when they stepped forward to receive their award.
"I’m so thankful that HCC has helped me develop the necessary leadership skills for my future,” said Ayoola Joseph, President of the Student Library Area Council - West Loop Campus. “Hopefully, I will make a positive impact on the community of Houston upon graduation."
