Two celebrated photographers discuss their craft at HCC

Pablo Gimenez-Zapiola, the renowned Argentinian photographer whose works focus on the beauty and richness of landscapes and natural forms and Max Burkhalter, a former Houston Community College student and up-and-coming photographer whose works have been featured locally and nationally, will give free lectures May 3 and 4 at HCC to share their work, style, methods and professional advice.

Pablo Gimenez-Zapiola will speak from 10 to 11 a.m, May 3, at the HCC Central Learning Hub Science Bldg., 1300 Holman St., Room 101.

Max Burkhalter

Max Burkhalter will speak from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., tomorrow, May 4, at the same location. Burkhalter’s work has appeared in such publications as Houstonia, Austin Monthly, Paper City and the Houston Press.“We are delighted to have both photographers speak to our students and community about their craft,” says Bennie Flores Ansell, professor of photography at the HCC Visual and Performing Arts Center of Excellence. “Pablo is well known. And Max is a local innovative artist who took a photography course at HCC and is now doing a lot of interesting things.”

Both lectures are part of the Artist Talks series at HCC, which is sponsored by the Department of Art, HCC Visual and Performing Arts Center of Excellence.
