Hundreds of Fort Bend County students commit to HCC

Recently, nearly 230 high school graduates from Fort Bend County committed to attend Houston Community College (HCC).

“It’s inspiring to see high school seniors promising to continue their education and invest in their future,” said Dr. Madeline Burillo, president, HCC Southwest. “This is confirmation that Fort Bend and the Greater Houston area have a large pipeline of young adults who are motivated, passionate, and ready to work hard to succeed in the industry of their choice. Having a workforce pipeline is essential for the economic development of our region. HCC’s educational partnership with Fort Bend County ISD serves as a bridge for high school students moving to four-year universities and as a career catalyst for those high school seniors pursuing training and education in high demand and high skilled professions.”

To confirm their post-secondary commitments, the graduating seniors recited a college commitment pledge. They also signed a certificate to seal their agreement to attend and graduate from the college/university of their choice.
