HCC instructors and students honor veterans through art exhibition

Words like honor, sacrifice, commitment and warrior line the walls of the Houston Community College (HCC) West Loop Campus Art Gallery this month to pay homage to America’s veterans – past and present.

The exhibition titled, “It is the Soldier” honors veterans through art. Four instructors and 39 students created the art pieces that cover the gallery walls. Just like the individual artists, each piece of art has a very different feel. Some show heroes, while others showcase fathers and mothers.

The exhibit is designed to make visitors feel a connection with those who serve.
