May 10, 2016
Houston Community College (HCC) Northeast students celebrated their accomplishments at the annual student awards ceremony held at the Northeast Campus. Award recipients were treated to brunch as a reward for their hard work.
The Presidential Award went to 166 students who earned a 4.0 GPA during the Spring 2016 semester. HCC Northeast President Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher, commended them for this achievement.
“We are so delighted to be partners with you to ensure that every dream that you have, with respect to your education, we can help you make it a reality,” she said.
The Excellence in Achievement Award went to nine students. This award is the highest honor a student can receive at the awards ceremony. Their service and leadership to their community during the 2015-2016 academic year has made them true leaders.
Students, guests, staff and faculty also enjoyed a Candyland-themed event complete with sweet treats and on-site caricature artists who created portraits for attendees.
The HCC Office of Student Life hosted the awards ceremony along with a variety of events and activities to benefit students. For more information, call 713.718.8300.
