Katy mom bloggers gather to discuss future of education

Houston Community College is known for being a leader in higher education providing associate degrees and workforce certificates, but what you might not see is the work we do behind the scenes that is shaping the future of learning for children as early as pre-school age.
We’re passionate about ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to pursue an affordable education that links to a career pathway. However, sometimes it’s all we talk about! So to help broaden the discussions we have every day, we thought it’d be a great idea to ask moms that have blogs or are influential on social media about their opinions on some key topics in education.
In this project, Katy Moms Chat & Chew on Education, we invited four moms to Kroger (FM 1093 & Spring Green Blvd) and filmed their thoughts on topics such as school nutrition, standardized tests and saving money for college. The discussion moderated by Katy Independent School District Board member, Rebecca Fox will be promoted on our social media channels from May 4 until Mother’s Day, May 10.
During this week, we will be talking about education, while celebrating Katy’s rich learning environment on our social media channels, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Blog. You can follow us on social media and use the #KatyMomsChat to join the discussion.
