HCC STEM Academy gives students skills for future

Jul 23, 2015

Houston Community College ushered students towards careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math during its STEM Academy summer session, a program lead by the HCC Minority Male Initiative.

Volunteers with expertise in various STEM fields served as teachers and mentors for students across the Houston area. They exposed them to robotics, programming, forensic science, mechanical engineering, and even biology.  The weeklong camp at Alief-Taylor High School offered students a unique opportunity to learn about various aspects of STEM. They also heard from a special guest speaker, an agent with the FBI.
