HCC joins community partners to give family a happy holiday season
Dec 11, 2015
iDesign, the Interior Design student organization at Houston Community College, helped make this an unforgettable holiday season for a mother and her two children. The HCC students teamed up with the Houston Furniture Bank Decorating Interiors-Volunteers At your Service (D.I.V.A.S) and the Haven of Hope House of Houston, Inc. to give the family some much needed holiday cheer.
“What an amazing experience we had adopting a family this holiday season,” said Christina Rougerie, iDesign president. “It has brought us such happiness to bring them a space that is decorated in the holiday spirit, as well as provide gifts for the children and their mother.”
This is the first year iDesign participated in the event. The group donated the decorations along with gift items including clothes, roller skates, shoes, and books.
“This was a great learning experience on organization and management skills for our interior design students,” said, Kevin Hamby, iDesign Faculty Advisor at HCC. “We always encourage ambition and self-marketing to our students through community outreach events such as this one.”
