HCC attends Gamecon Convention
Aug 12, 2015
Houston Community College techies took to Galveston armed with flat screens, 3D printers and multiple science experiments to entertain and recruit at the 2015 Gamecon Tropical Gaming Convention.
Gamecon event coordinators spotted the HCC booth spread at Comicpalooza in May and invited the Southwest science guys to participate in this two-day event.
HCC had one of the busiest booths at the convention and reached gamers of all ages. Volunteers included multiple information technology and tech support staff from the Stafford and West Loop Campuses, who ran the 3D printers, worked the science projects and answered questions about HCC while handing out swag giveaways.
There are multiple degree and certificate options available at Houston Community College in digital gaming and simulation. The Digital Gaming and Simulation Program offers career training that leads to employment in the industry as artists, programmers or designers.
