Learn more about HCC chancellor search

Houston Community College (HCC) is in the process of choosing our next chancellor. This process will help define us as we move into the future. We have engaged the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist in this important endeavor. ACCT and the HCC Board of Trustees are committed to a smooth, transparent, open and inclusive search process.
As we begin the search for a new chancellor, it is vitally important for HCC and its stakeholders, including our local business communities, to take this opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished and where we hope to be in the future to ensure our continued commitment to the success of students. An important step in the chancellor search is to solicit input from each of you to assist the Board in preparing a Chancellor Profile. The Profile should reflect the opportunities and challenges HCC is facing and the ideal qualities and characteristics of our next chancellor. Your participation in the development of the Chancellor Profile is invaluable to the Board.
Open forums were held to solicit thoughts on the following questions:
1) What are Houston Community College’s immediate priorities?
2) What are Houston Community College’s longer-term priorities (five – ten years out)?
3) What are the ideal characteristics of our new chancellor?
If you were unable to attend the open forums, please provide your response to the above identified questions to Laurie Savona, one of our ACCT search consultants, at lsavona@acct.org by noon Thursday, October 31, 2013.
Our ACCT search consultants will compile your responses and add them to the responses of those received during the open forums. This information will form a foundation for the development of our Chancellor Profile. We look forward to your active participation in this process.
