HCC and Jacobs Program Management Host Matchmaking Style SBE Event
Nov 17, 2014
With an ambitious and commendable goal of awarding 35 percent of its $425 million Groundbreaker Bond Program to small businesses, Houston Community College (HCC) is hosting a unique event aimed at pairing these groups with the prime contractors managing its construction projects – some slated to begin this month.
HCC and Jacobs Program Management will host a speed-dating style event that allows potential small business enterprise (SBE) subcontractors to meet face-to-face with each of the prime contractors in seven- to eight-minute meetings. This free event takes place from 8-10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21 at the HCC West Loop Center Auditorium.
This is the third Groundbreaker SBE event hosted by HCC and Jacobs, and this venue will give attendees the first opportunity to ask in-depth questions to the people and companies managing the massive construction effort.
Pre-registration is mandatory to attend the event, which also features a tradeshow style room with industry experts in areas such as bonding, banking, insurance and becoming SBE-certified, along with others.
